Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask us most, before they decide who to trust with their heating and cooling.
We schedule most service calls the same or next day. If your system is completely down, especially in a heat wave or a cold snap, call us. We run emergency service 24/7 and will get to you as quickly as we can.
Often it is a repair, and we will tell you when it is. A failed part on a system that is otherwise sound is a fix, not a replacement. Replacement makes sense when a system is past about fifteen years, the repair is costly, efficiency has dropped, or the furnace has a cracked heat exchanger. We show you the numbers so you can decide with the full picture.
Yes. Northline Heating & Cooling carries state HVAC contractor licensing, general liability insurance, and workers' compensation for every technician. We are happy to show proof before any work begins, and we encourage you to ask any contractor for the same. A company that hesitates is telling you something.
The Comfort Plan covers two seasonal tune-ups a year, one before cooling season and one before heating season, plus priority scheduling, a repair discount, and no overtime charges. It keeps your system efficient, catches small problems early, and keeps the manufacturer warranty valid. See the maintenance plan for the tiers and what each visit covers.
Yes, on qualifying replacements. A new furnace or air conditioner is a large purchase, and financing lets some homeowners do it right rather than nursing an old system through another season. We will walk you through the options when we provide your estimate.
New equipment carries a manufacturer parts warranty, up to ten years, and we back the installation with our own labor warranty. We register both for you so the coverage is active from day one, and most manufacturers require annual maintenance to keep the parts warranty in force, which the Comfort Plan handles.
We service Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, and most major brands, regardless of who installed the system. Our technicians are factory-trained on the equipment we install, and NATE-certified across the board.
Most furnace or AC replacements take a single day. A full system, with both heating and cooling, may run into a second day. We protect your floors, keep the work area clean, test the system thoroughly, and walk you through it before we leave. We give you a realistic schedule with your estimate.
We serve the north Columbus metro, including Westerville, Worthington, Gahanna, Dublin, New Albany, and Sunbury. See our service area for the full list. If you are just outside it, call us anyway. We often go a bit farther for a replacement.
Look for a local address, a state license number, proof of insurance, NATE-certified technicians, and real reviews from nearby towns. A contractor you can trust diagnoses before quoting, gives you a written price, and explains your options without pressure. Be wary of a quote with no inspection, a price that only holds if you sign today, or a push to replace a system that could be repaired.
